Liquid thermal insulation coating
Bronya Winter

Bronya Winter Liquid Ultrafine Thermal Insulation Coating. A thermal insulation material has been developed that can be applied at temperatures as low as -35°C. Bronya Winter thermal insulation coating is a new product in the line of extra-fine liquid ceramic thermal insulation materials. Unlike any other liquid ceramic thermal insulation materials, compared to LCTIMs currently on the market, Bronya Winter can be applied at temperatures from -30°C to +30°C, while the lowest temperature for common LCTIM materials is +5 to +7°C. Bronya Winter thermal insulation consists of special acrylic polymers and hollow vacuumed ceramic microspheres, as well as colorants, fire retardants, rheological agents, and inhibitors.

How to choose a solvent for Bronya Winter thermal insulation:

  • According to the application instructions for the surface, the extra-fine thermal insulation material Bronya Winter should be diluted to working viscosity with o-xylene. Other solvents may also be used.
  • To choose the appropriate solvent, you can test it on a small amount of thermal insulation. If the solvent is not suitable for the job, the thermal insulation may clump or lose its adhesive properties (the material will become greasy and stop sticking to the surface).
  • Using gasoline for cleaning as a solvent is not allowed!

Solvent testing

Solvent testing procedure:

  1. Place a small amount of undiluted material in the freezer in a tightly sealed container.
  2. Keep the sample at a sub-zero temperature for 24 hours.
  3. Open the frozen sample. The material will be dense but not suitable for application.
  4. Add the test solvent to the sample and mix.
  5. If the material mixes well and does not separate, you can test the adhesion property of the material.
  6. The material should have a good working consistency and be easy to apply to the surface at a low temperature using a brush (IMPORTANT!) without slipping off the surface.
  7. Let the layer dry for 24 hours.

With the appropriate solvent, Bronya Winter will have good adhesion properties and will not peel from the surface. The polymerized layer can only be removed from the surface by mechanical damage. Provided that all the above conditions are met, it can be said that the solvent has been chosen correctly. Bronya's engineering department recommends using orthoxylene.

Orthoxylene is stable and disperses better. Other solvents are produced not only by different manufacturers, but also according to different technical specifications. The impact of poorer or greasy solvent is described above.

Our recommendations:
Ortho-xylene;
No. 646 – test a small amount first;
No. 649 – first test a small quantity;
No. 650 - first test a small quantity;
Thinner – absolutely forbidden;
Cleaning benzine – absolutely forbidden.
